Building Resilience from the Inside Out

Supporting people and institutions in high-demand environments through mind-body health, stress regulation, and HeartMath-based resilience tools

The Heart of the Work

Akoma is a Ghanaian Adinkra symbol that translates from the Twi language as “the heart.” It symbolizes compassion, gratitude, generosity, resilience, courage, and love - the very qualities needed to lead well and remain grounded in today’s institutions.

Across schools, colleges, and universities, educators and institutional leaders are navigating sustained pressure, rising demands, and increasing complexity. My work focuses on helping individuals and organizations build resilience from the inside out through practical, evidence-informed approaches that support mind-body health while respecting institutional realities.

Teachers are experiencing frequent job-related stress at a rate about twice that of the general adult population.

Who I Work With

I support educators, leaders, teams, and institutions working in high-demand educational and public-sector environments - especially those committed to well-being, resilience, and sustainable performance.

My work is designed for people and organizations seeking practical, evidence-informed ways to strengthen mind-body health, stress regulation, and human capacity while honoring the realities of the systems they serve.

Chronic stress is common among public safety personnel and is associated with a range of mental and physical health concerns.

A Grounded, Interdisciplinary Approach

My work brings together systems thinking, clinical experience, and evidence-based frameworks - offered with care, respect, and a deep understanding of the human experience.

Systems Thinker

My background includes years in IT as a systems administrator and technical trainer, supporting complex systems and teaching adults how to work smarter, not harder.

That experience shaped how I understand resilience - not as motivation or willpower, but as system capacity, stability, and recovery.

Clinical Depth

As a licensed acupuncturist with over 17 years of clinical practice, I have worked closely with individuals experiencing chronic stress, pain, and burnout.

This work has deepened my understanding of how the nervous system adapts, how imbalance accumulates, and how meaningful change unfolds when the whole body is supported rather than forced.

Evidence-Based

As a Certified HeartMath Trainer and Certified High Performance Coach, I translate evidence-based frameworks into accessible, institution-appropriate tools and conversations. My focus is on helping people regulate stress, improve focus, and sustain performance over time.

Work-related stress is a major challenge to the health of workers and the healthiness of their workplaces.
